Two Standards, One Transition Mindset: ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026 Awareness Training in Cavite

QPlus recently conducted a back-to-back training program in Cavite to help organizations understand the transition requirements for the newly published ISO 9001:2026 and the updated ISO 14001:2026.

The training was held on September 15, 2026, at the AVR, FCIE, Langkaan, Dasmariñas, Cavite, with participants. Both sessions were led by Jay-Mie Catibayan.

Building Transition Awareness

The first session, ISO 9001 Awareness: ISO/FDIS 9001:2026 Transition Briefing, introduced participants to the latest edition of the Quality Management Systems standard. With ISO 9001:2026 now published, organizations certified to ISO 9001:2015 should begin reviewing their current QMS and planning the actions needed for transition. The transition period is expected to run for approximately three years, until September 2029.

The second session, ISO 14001:2026 – Key Updates, Changes, and Transition Guidance, focused on the revised Environmental Management System standard. Participants explored what the updates may mean for their EMS and why early preparation is important.

Why Early Preparation Matters

Transition awareness gives organizations time to:

• Understand the updated requirements.

• Review their existing QMS and EMS.

• Identify possible gaps and improvement areas.

• Prepare employees and process owners.

• Update relevant processes and documented information.

• Coordinate transition activities with their certification body.

For ISO 14001:2026, recommended preparation includes awareness training, gap analysis, review of environmental commitments, and transition planning.

The publication of ISO 9001:2026 and the update to ISO 14001:2026 are opportunities for organizations to strengthen their management systems—not simply update documents.
